Right Ala Valley
Bech Rous-Fort-Balme (TO)

Mineralogical deposits of the Fort are easily accessible from the village of Balme (TO) and more precisely from Albaron.

In the vicinity of a minute clay sports field the trail starts to climb towards Lake Afframont, at the height of the marker that indicates the path to the Lake, on the right is still evident, fewer and fewer, the old cross-country ski Balme who follow among the bushes for about 15 minutes until you arrive near a large boulder that we will find on our left, on the edge of the track there are traces of mineralization to do variety of garnet red.

Circumvented the huge boulder in North-West direction we will see a vast area of ruins where masses of rodingiti encompass different mineralization.

Primary deposits are located further upstream in the locality of Becc Rus from where they take a large mineralized lenses currently dispersed in piles.

To reach the Lake Afframont you have to go back where we had met the pole that indicated the direction, where in less than an hour you arrive in beautiful alpine lake.

The trail soon arrives in Afframont Valley at the foot of the Alpe Rocc Piat and steep slope leads us up to Pian della Ciavana, still about 150 metres and the marked trail leads to the lake where there are small and quaint old huts, a little effort and in front of us is the beautiful Lake Afframont.
