Susa Valley, on the orographic right
Sant'Ambrogio (TO)

We are located in the right bank of the Susa Valley, the stone quarries of this short note are idle for a long time and are located in the municipality of Sant'Ambrogio di Torino (Turin).

The quarries are located at the base of the mountain at the top was built the beautiful and suggestive Sacra di San Michele.

Much of the mountain is home to countless rodingite lenses that cash the coils, in the literature we have several references, so you have to Balogun and Repossi who studied meticulously these deposits.

Currently a cycle track crossing and along the whole front of the quarry and this will allow us to observe.

THE MINERALS

Calcite-chlorite-diopside–epidote-ilmenite-magnetite– idrossiclinohummite –  perowskite – melanite - titanit - vesuvianite.

Thanks

My heartfelt thanks to Istituto Geografico Militare in Florence that has made available the cartography of the area treated.

Thanks Enzo Agostini and Piero Brizio that allowed authors to photograph samples of minerals from the area treated.
