Left Ala Valley
Ciarva Head-Balme (TO)

We are in the Valli di Lanzo and more specifically in Valle di Ala that acts as a buffer between the Valley of Viù and Valle Grande, in the municipality of Balme (TO).

Joints in the bottom of the Valley, at the end of the Pian della Mussa, shortly before the Refuge city of Ciriè, on our right is clearly visible the head Ciarva (bald head), impressive rocky massif rounded and smoothed by the action of glaciers.

Mineralogical deposits this year made famous in the world not only the Valli di Lanzo, Piedmont and Italy ber the beauty of minerals extracted samples.

Perhaps because of the easy access to the valley floor and definitely for the goodness of nature that Ciarva head was granted specifically for centuries mankind has exploited these deposits, with mining concessions, so superb.

CURRENTLY the Ordinance No 4/97 of the MUNICIPALITY of BALME, WHILE PERMITTING THROUGHOUT THE TERRITORY of the MUNICIPALITY research and COLLECT MINERALS COLLECTOR purposes only, SCIENTIFIC, didactic and pursuant to article 2, paragraph 2° DELLA LEGGE REGIONALE n. 51 of 4 APRIL 1995:

SORT IN '' CIARVA '' HEAD it is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN to research and COLLECT MINERALS with the EQUIPMENT PERMITTED pursuant to article 4, paragraph 1 of regional law No. 51 of 4 APRIL 1995.

IN '' CIARVA ' HEAD ' AND ' ABSOLUTE DIEVIETO MADE OF ARTIFICIAL CAVE ACCESS FOR PUBLIC SAFETY REASONS FOR SPONTANEOUS COLLAPSES EVEN DANGER.

The landscape of this area is among the most beautiful of the Valley wing, flora and fauna abound in the spring and summer, marmots, chamois and ibex colonies stationed around Ciarva head.

Countless head Ciarva deposits, powerful rodingite alternate veins in the impressive rocky massif.

Nearby this famous mineral location we should not forget the famous Neil Roch, deposits to Alpe, Rocca Tovo and Saulera already described by the author into the appropriate sections of the site.
