Lanzo Valley
Pian Rozello-Traves (TO)

The Mineralogical localities located in the municipality of Traves (Turin).

The pian Rozello is located just above the small village of Rozello, Traves, Torino, at the foot of the shrine of St. Ignatius.

At the start of the current millennium, a driveway, was flattened by the hamlet of Granges, until Pian Rozello, cutting the old path that leads up to the shrine.

Between the Rozello and the floor plan of the houses, the machines entered deep into coils that laid the rodingiti called in the jargon by researchers '' dry '' * up to meet more compact rodingiti.

In February 2004 the intent between the rio Funghera, rio del Fornet until sanctuary of St. Ignatius from the base of the Stura I was intrigued by those doing excavation work on an interesting discovery.

I divided the two layers into '' A '' and '' B ''.

The '' field '' consists of a bowl-shaped lens and incorporates large crystals of clinozoisite immersed in talc, talc is part to the coils and there is presence of rodingite.

The '' B '' very near '' to '' and on the same floor, consists of a classic rodigite lens placed vertically.

I will describe briefly the minerals observed and found myself in this locality in the sites indicated by gps and utm coordinates.

Apatite in translucent white crystals, clinozoisite in different crystalline forms and colors represented by all shades of pink to greenish Crystal sizes up to 3.5 cm, chlorite, diopside crystals, tiny adjustments '' gate'' in crystals.

My heartfelt thanks to the Istituto Geografico Militare in Florence that has made available the cartography of the area treated.
