The trincerone and manganese mine-St. Ignatius-Pesssinetto (TO)

Near St. Ignatius of Pessinetto (TO) in the direction of Punta Serena, in the middle of a forest of birch trees is well evident a big trench where it emerges a manganese deposit in its vertical position approximately thirty metres to the North East is a mine, adjacent to this in the small valley below can be found traces of spessartina and braunite.

In the outcrop trincerone were discovered several species of manganese ores.

It is recalled that the abandoned mine is dangerous, as all mines, visit to our virtual photo albums, safety and common sense should always prevail over all things.

Minerals found.


Albite in small crystals, braunite in Hematite crystals, crystals, quartz, oxides of manganese, rhodonite in massive form, spessartina crystals and massive associated with braunite, acicular crystals of milky white color not yet analyzed.
