Lanzo Valley
Mine-Monte Calchas-Loc. The Pienci-Mezzenile (TO)

This resort is located in the Mineralogical Lanzo Valley near the hamlet of La Pianca, Mezzenile (TO).

We are located at the foot of Calchas a few hundred metres from Punta Lunelle.

A dirt road that leads from handful of Fraction Traves (TO) leads in minutes until the goose, a Grey bar indicates the passage to vehicles, not walk, you reach in about ten minutes at the borgata The Pianca.

The last houses on the road will be our reference point, we follow a small stream running down towards the valley floor rejoining a path that branches off to the left and then go into the foothills of Lunelle.

Considering and looking at the type of work carried out in this mine, we can go back to the authentic period.

The minerals present in the small landfill are superficially very mangled.

Azurite, chalcopyrite, chlorite, calcite, magnetite, malachite, pyrite, copper sulphate and iron.

My heartfelt thanks to Istituto Geografico Militare in Florence that has made available the cartography of the area treated.
